How do I change the color of the slide tab place marker?

On the side bar of my presentation, I have the colored outline marking my
place in my presentation. I need to change the outline color of the place
marker so I can tell where I am. The two colors are too similar to
distinguish easily.

I don't think this can be changed. In PPT 2003 and prior, it may be
changeable by changing your Windows theme display settings. In 2007, Office
applications don't pick up Windows settings, so you're stuck with the three
options available in the Office Button | <application> Options settings.
