How do I change the cluster size...

D

Dani

....without buying a $50 program? I used the recovery
console in WinXP Pro to delete the partitions on my
primary hard drive and reformatted it as one partition.
There wasn't any option in the commands for specifying
cluster size, so I ended up with the default value of 4K.
Before I put lots of effort into getting my computer back
to preformat status, I'd like to resize the clusters to
512. The disk management tools won't let me do this. I get
a message that some program is using the drive (well, I
guess I am since it's the primary drive, so obviously I
can't make this change.)

BTW, I have Partition Magic 6.0, which I used all of one
time, and I just hate to spend another $50 for the upgrade
to 8.0 for something I'll probably only use once.

Thanks for any advice y'all can give me.
