How do I change spell check language in Outlook?

R

Reader

I have tried to change the language by choosing Tools, Options & Spelling;
however, the only language offered in the language drop down menu is French.
Is there a way to change it to English is that option isn't offered?

1. Go to the Start Menu, and Click on All Programs / Microsoft Office /
Microsoft Office Tools / Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings.
2. Make sure that Englsih (US) is listed in the Enabled Editing Languages
list, and click OK.

If that doesn't work, then you can try this:
1. Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel
2. Click on the "Change" button for Microsoft Office 2007
3. Click "Continue".
4. Expand "Office Shared Features" in the Installation Options screen
5. Expand "Proofing Tools"
6. Make sure that "English Proofing Tools" is set to "Run from My Computer."

My spell check for e-mail is French and there are no other options in the
drop box...I read this post and tried both the suggestions. I got to the
Office Shared Features but there was no "Proofing Tools" any other
suggestions?

You no longer have spell checking capabilities in some languages in Outlook
or in Outlook Express 6.0 after you install the 2007 Microsoft Office system:

If you have a previous version of Office, see this:

Outlook Express cannot use the MS Word spell check in Office 2007.
Downloading a free spell check is the simplest way around this.
