How do I change my screen resolution but keep my text the same siz

When I change my resolution from 1024x768 to 1600x1200, my screen shrinks
down to about 1/3 of the original size. Everything, including all pages on
the web, and all of my icons appear really small. I have tried to change the
view by going to the view tab, but this does not resolve anything. Please
advise?

try under DISPLAY the Settings tab and advanced button and set the DPI to LARGE.
