I am running XP pro connected to a SBS2003 server. I had to re-install the
server software due to a hardware failure, and now even though I named the
domain the same as before, my computer is extremely slow accessing network
resources. I have read on this discussion group that even if you name the
domain the same as before, it's not the same.
How do I go about getting my XP machine to change domain name without losing
all of my account settings, registry entries, etc...
On another XP machine, I changed the domain name by clicking on "network
id" in system properties, but then lost all of the users account settings,
registry entries, etc... The performance is very fast on that box now, but
I am hesitant to do it on all of our machines because account settings get
lost and then having to re-install some software just to get the registry
straightened out.
Help !
Thanks,
Paul
