How do I change a KMS key to something else?

We are running WinXP Pro at the office. I purchased upgrade licenses to
Vista Business for 10 PCs. Once at the eOpen site, I decided to try a
better way to upgrade the PC's (so I thought) by requesting a KMS key. I
soon found out it was a bit more than I could handle without disruption to
the staff so now I want to change the key to it's original, 'plain vanilla'
state so I can then use it to install each PC and activate them one at a
time.

My problem is in dealing with MS's support; their folks in India don't
understand what I'm trying to do. While I deal with that, is there another
way that would be better?

TIA,

KMS requires a minimum of 25 computers and computer activations every 180
days by the KMS "server".

Consider using MAKs (Multiple activation keys).

Can I convert a KMS to a MAK through that site?

Sure - just use
Windows Software Licensing Management Tool
open an admin command prompt and run
cscript slmgr.vbs /?
to see all the options

OK. Just so I understand .... I use the KMS key, then run this tool and I
can change it to a non-KMS key?
