How do I change a hyperlink button's appearance after its use?

I have a Jeopardy like program I am creating with a hyperlinked action button
for each category. After a user "selects" a category, I would like to
activate the action and then, upon return to the home page, would like that
action button to be somehow different in font, background color or whatever.
This eliminates duplication of the selections. Is there a way to create a
change in the original page such that it is reset at the beginning of the
slide show and remains changed throughout the show otherwise?

Set an emphasis custom animation (eg desaturate / change fill) and trigger it
with a click on itself (double click the custom animation entryy > timing >
Triggers> start effect on click of ....)

Thank you for your quick response. I tried the custom animation. The
problem is it is time limited to 5 seconds. Can't get it to stay permanently
or remain there after the hyperlink. Maybe I am just going about this the
wrong way.

The emphasis effect should be permanent until you animate an oposing emphasis
effect... so your probably doing it wrong.

Make sure the effect has time to play out when you click the button..
because if it is triggered to go off after a delay, and you've hyperlinked to
another slide already, then the effect will not occur.

Also make sure you dont have the effect set to "rewind when done playing"
because some emphasis effects support that.

Hi

My guess is you have rewind animation ticked

The 5 seconds is the time taken to desaturate (ie slow motion ) NOT the time
before it resets You can actually manually type any time you want here from
0.1 secs to minutes!

If you have a delay set it will still work but there will be a delay when
you return to the slide before the animation

If youre really stuck drop me an email and I'll send a quick demo
