how do I change 3d default setting to off

To change background colours of selected cells within a table in power point,
3d automatically appears. In creating an auto shape, 3d automatically
appears. How do I change the 3d default setting to 'off'.
 
Try this.

Draw a shape - is it 3D? Yes - remove the 3D, right click the shape and
choose Set Autoshape defaults.
