How do I capture a printer port LPT1

We are deploying a point of sale system which requires
that the printer installed on lpt2 also capture the port
lpt1 for its cash drawer. help... in windows 98 it
was easy... all you needed to to was capture the printer
port in the setup properties of the printer... how do
we do this in XP???

Make the printer shared via Printers control panel.
Type 'net use lpt1: \\pcname\printername' to capture it.
