How do I build a PowerPoint line that builds along its length?

I am in serious trouble. Major class presentation due in 3 days. I need to
build an effect in PowerPoint but don't know how. I can do basic fly-ins,
etc. But I cannot figure out how to get a line to draw progressively across
a page, as if the audience is watching it being drawn, end to end. I'm using
Power Point 2003 (11.6361.6408) SP1, for students and teachers. Somebody
please tell me how to do this. Thanks.

Slide Show > Custom animation
Select Entrance. Choose the Wipe (from left -- or right as your case may be)
Detemine if you want it to enter on a click, with a previous animation or
after a previous animation. Set your desired "draw" speed.

Is this what you need?
