System Restore (simple) or regback.exe (not so simple).

Yes. Go to C:\Windows\System32\Restore, and right click on rstrui.exe
Drag out to desktop, and click "Create shortcut here".

Many of us do. I'm an MVP, for example, and I use and highly recommend

That's just silly and not at all true. Many MVPs, including me,
recommend programs that are not by Microsoft. Besides ERUNT, I have
often recommended the following non-Microsoft programs here:
WordPerfect, Quicken, Avast, Spybot Search and Destroy, Adaware, and
Spyware Blaster. Probably others too, but those are the ones that
quickly come to mind.

Microsoft doesn't own the MVPs or tell any of us what to prefer or
what to recommend. In some categories, I prefer Microsoft programs to
the alternatives; in other categories, I prefer non-Microsoft
programs, and I am happy to speak my mind about what I prefer. There
may be a few Microsoft-only MVPs, but they are rare, and I am sure
most MVPs will agree with me.

OK, thanks. I didn't really take it as a personal offense. I was
rather speaking up on behalf of all MVPs. The notion that all MVPs are
the same, or are devoted to all things Microsoft, is just false.
