How do I auto download news messages?

I used to be able to watch a news group in my Outlook Express, but something
has changed. Now I have to go to somewhere else and then come back or click
on download more messages to get anything new.
I would like to be able to monitor the newsgroup by just leaving it up
and watching for any new messages that pop up.
I have searched and googled, but didn't find much on the subject that
helps.
