How do I attach an image file in an email mail merge?

I wish to do a mail merge for an email with an image file as an attachment
and send to all contacts in a contact file.

I know how to carry out a mail merge but can't find away to attach the
image file first?
 
if it's to be send as an embedded image, create an html email and insert it.
otherwise, you need to use a 3rd party utility or VBA to attach it.
