how do i append a query?

I am a total newbie to Access...I have a simple database that I created for
my event's participants for last year's event. Now I would like to create a
database for this year's events.

Easily 50% of the participants will be repeats from last year...How do I add
their information without having to re-enter it from scratch?

Why would you want to create a separate database? You would have a tale for
the participants, then you need to build the rest of your database to handle
the events. How you would do this varies greatly depending on your needs.

If I were you, I'd use the free "event management" database template on the
Microsoft website and simply append my "people" to it. It is dynamic and
will let you manage multiple events without the need to duplicate data in
more than one file. It can be found at:
