i have been having some probs with win xp for some time now with random
rebooting due to an old iomega driver..

i decided to reinstall win xp on a new hard disk as i wanted a clean install
on a bigger drive..

the new install went on with relatively minor fuss due to the fact that i
have win xp 2002 ed

i hooked up the old drive as D: and i find i cannot access the old folders
for the administrator and for my personal account ... i get an "Access
denied" dialogue box :(

if some one could suggest how i could get to my old files ... or point me to
a knowledge base article i would appreciate it ...

thanks

What file format did you use when installing WIN XP?
What was the file format on the old install of Win XP?
If the file systems are both NTFS, then you should be able to read the D:
information if the folder permissions are set to show hidden files and
folders.
