How can you insert a content control in a footer?

I have added control content to a document; however, I am unable to add it to
the footer. Is that possible? Thank you.

Why on earth would you want to? The footer is not in the document text layer
and so you would have to open the footer in order to access it.

I just added one to the header, so I assume you can do it to the footer.

It was the same control that was contained in the body of the form. I just
copied and pasted it, so the footer is automatically populated when I fill
out the form.
