How can I view images on Front Page again? All I see is Red X

I know this must be a simple fix but I just cannot figure it out. I can no
longer view images on FrontPage, all I see is a Red X. Even under preview
this occurs. I may have messed up a setting somewhere. Once I place the
HTML on the internet it is fine, I only have this issue on my local computer
with front page. Any idea whatt is occuring or how to fix?

Also, "the file is under source control and has Read Only attribute. Do you
want to check it out?" prompt started to appear. While trying to figure out
what was wrong I must have clicked on something so now this appears.

Any help is appreciated.

For the images make sure you have not added a base ref or target tag in your pages
For the source control issue Turn Off Checkout in Tools Site Settings

Thanks Stefan but that is not the case here. I have not changed anything but
what did occur is that one day I saw a message pop up about allowing a site
to access out & I mistakenly selected no. After this I could no longer view
images on FrontPage. I am sure I can change this back but I have no idea
where to do this? Any more help is appreciated.

What does "...access out &..." mean?

Do your images reside within your local FP website?

Images are all hosted on other sites. In the past I ws able to view them by
simply copying them from the site (imageshack.us) & pasting in my FrontPage
screen. Now when I do it I only see a Red X, no image. What I meant by
access out, Frontpage asked if I would allow it to connect externally to the
internet. I selected no by mistake. I just neeed to find out how to change
this setting back so I can view the images again.

Thanks

That setting is not a FP setting
- check your windows firewall or antivirus program settings
