How can I view all messages

I've just switcehd over from Lotus Notes and have previoulsy been able to
view all messages, tasks , calendar items etc in one list. This is useful if
you have filed a message and then forgotten wihich folder it is in. Can you
do this in Outlook?

Nope. Advanced Search and Search Folders (if you have at least Outlook
2003) can help, however.
 
Yes I have Outlook 2003.

I guess if I use the search function and set all the crieteria to wild cards
then it will give me all my messages which I what I want.

Search Folders also work well. Outlook 2007 will have better displays of
disparate information in one view.
