How can I use an old font (.fon) in Word 2003?

In the office 2000 suite we used a font called BSU Kermit. This is a .fon file.
Now we've installed office 2003 professional, but we can't use the font
anymore.

Is there a way that we can use the old fonts, or is there another font that
looks like Arial, but has the character with of courier new?

Could you please translate "but has the character with of courier new" into

I'm sorry, it should say:

"but has the character width of courier new"

Which means that all the characters / letters have the same width (even the
'i' and the 'w'), which makes it easier for outlining a text.

..fon files are not supported in newer versions of Word. See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=291354 "Some fonts that were
available in Word 95 are no longer available in Word 2002". The
article also applies to Word 2003.

Hi Kees,

You could try 'Lucida Console', 'Lucida Sans Typewriter' or 'Lucida Unicode' as a substitute.

For a font that looks like Arial (i.e., sans serif), Letter Gothic may be
available if an HP printer is being used, but Lucida Console and Lucida Sans
Typewriter would also meet that criterion.
