How can I "Undelete" a TASK in Outlook 2007?

L

Legally Lost

I accidentally deleted a task with critical information not contained in the
hard copy of our legal files. Can anyone advise how I can restore back a TASK
from Outlook 2007; I don't need to restore anything else, i.e. restore a
backup, as I'd lose my entire day of posting additional information to my
other tasks. Is there an UNDELETE on tasks as there is with Outlook mail, and
if so, how can I access it? Thanks all for the help.

We use a registry hack that allows us to use the Recover Deleted Items
from any folder in our mailboxes.

Here's the info:

1) Click on Start, Run, type in regedit and click OK.
2) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Client
\Options
3) Click on Edit, New, DWORD
4) On the right hand side window type DumpsterAlwaysOn and hit enter.
5) Double click on the DumpsterAlwaysOn and set the Value Data to 1
and click OK.

If you had Outlook while doing this, close Outlook and reopen it.

Then go to your Tasks folder, click on Tools and then Recover Deleted
Items. It will show all tasks that were deleted from the Tasks
folder. Highlight the item you want to recover and then click on the
second icon from the left (Recover Select Items). The deleted item
will now be back in your Tasks folder.\

Hope this helps....

Did you look for it in the Deleted items folder? It should be there unless
you used Shift+Delete or emptied the deleted items folder. If you did empty
it and have a backup pst, open the backup using File, Open, Outlook data
file and copy just that task over.
