How can I time how long it takes a user to complete a PPT?

I'm trying to create a mouse skills test for Kindergarteners and First
Graders at my school. I've used PowerPoint to create a series of slides in
which the student must click on certain targets to advance correctly through
the PPT. With that done, I'd like to be able to automatically time how long
it takes the student to complete the test (in seconds). I presumed that I
could start a time (or write a start time) upon clicking a control box, then
note a finish time upon clicking a second control box at the end of the PPT.
I've searched Microsoft.com and the KB, but haven't found an answer. Any
ideas out there?

Thanks in advance!

Paul,

To time how long something took in powerpoint, you will have to use
something called VBA (that's programming to you and me). I don't know of any
code on the web that will do what you want straight off

There are some ready to go timers on this page

http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00081.htm

But I suspect you will need some code unique to your particular problem.
