How can I synchronize my laptop and desktop. I use XP Professional on a CAT 5
home network.

Are there alternatives to exactly sync the two XP computers through their USB
ports or other ways?

i don't mean to steal this thread,
but what is the difference between the windows sync toy and windows
briefcase?
also, i read that sync toy could be used with briefcase, but why for..?

SyncToy is highly customizable, and the documentation claims that it can
even synchronize files that are renamed in the 2nd computer. Plus it has
other features that Briefcase does not have. When you have time, download
the SyncToy documentation file available here:

i had downloaded it and research my question before posting. But it lacks
the
"how to between pc and laptop" and "how it works with breifcase"

I did see how "so n so uses it for this and for that".... But personally,
for me it was why would i care
how they use it, when i am interested on how its done...

It's ok, i'll figure it out. I can transfer files now, but always trying to
find betterwayzz.

It looks like SyncToy kinda-sorta does the job synchronizing desktop and
laptop. Would be nice if there was a more automatic and foolproof method.
Can I use the RETROSPECT software used on my backup hard drive and/or my
Norton SystemWorks 2005? Any better ideas before I close this thread?
