How can I stop a message in my Outlook outbox that won't send?

How can I stop a message in my Outlook outbox that won't send?
I have sent a large file which didn't go through and now I cannot get rid of
it from the outbox!
I have tried doing it without being connected, applying rules to it with no
success!

Could you suggest any thing for this issue?
