Check to computer's BIOS so as to see if it has a timer. If it does not, you
will need to set up a timer device and plug-in the computer into this unit.

Attach it to a timer, such as those used to turn lamps on and off and
available at most hardware/home improvement stores.

Make a mechanical device like a solenoid connected to a timer and get it to
press your start button.

If your computer is off then it is off. If you want it to be able to do
anything it has to be powered.

A timer applying power to the computer will not start it. The start button
also must be pushed once power is available. Perhaps you could have your
timer also ring a bell and instruct your butler to come in when he hears the
bell and push the button.

Some PC's have an option in the BIOS to resume after a
power failure, these machines will work with a timer as described.

Please give examples of such computers- it could be useful information.

Nearly every PC built since,.... oh...., somewhere around 1996, if
memory serves.
