How can I shrink the space between records in a report?

I have a small sub-report in a main report with only one field. The
sub-report is based on a quary that can return anywhere from one to 6
records. My problem is that when more then one record is returned, the
records are double spaced. This is preventing me from being able to fit all
of my needed information on my Main report because of the space between the
records of the sub-report.

Is there any way to get records returned in my sub-report to be
single-spaced and thus reclaim the space I'm losing in the sub-report?

Not sure what you mean by "double-spaced", as I'm not sure there's a setting
for that in Access as there is in Word. Have you tried opening that
sub-report in design mode and eliminating blank space?

Jeff,

Thanks for answering so quick, but i actually figured out what my
problem was last night while i was laying in bed, guess i had to get away
from it for a bit.

It wasnt that the records were being double spaced, the result was
coming from the fact that i had a small amount of space above and below my
text box containing the one field. When there was more then one record that
small space was repeated between the records and was causing the spacing
problem. I had tried to shrink the detail section before i posted but i
couldnt git it to go under .25". The reason for that was because i had a
vertical line along the side of the detail section to connect to the header
and footer section to look like one line when the report was printed. The
vertical line was .25" and that is why i couldnt size my detail section any
smaller.

When that finally dawned on me, i shortened the line and then, lo and
behold, i could size the detail section. Be eliminating the small space in
the detail that took care of the problem. I appreciate your reply and hope
my explaination of my solution makes sense.
