I am looking for a way to show a powerpoint presentation with powerpoint
viewer 2003 inside the browser window (used to be BrowserFlags / In-Place).

It seems, that the Powerpoint Viewer 2003 is always starting as an external
application.

Can anybody help?

Hi Glenna,

Thx for your reply. I tried this already and it works fine if you have the
full version of powerpoint installed. However on a PC with only the
powerpoint viewer the pp viewer keeps starting in full screen mode as an
external
application.

It did work with the ppviewer 97.

Hi again,

As disappointing as it may be, I'm glad to know that the new viewer doesn't
start in the browser. For persons using screen readers, PP shows in the
browser are not accessible. Sorry, but by making the viewer open
independently, Microsoft has made their product more accessible for persons
using assistive technology and I have to support that.

Hi Glenna,

Anyway, thx for your help. For us it is important, that the viewer starts
within the browser, because otherwise we cannot 'kill' the viewer-app since
the app is startet externally. I will advise the people how want to use
powerpoint to install the complete version or use the 97-version of the
viewer.

An alternative for me will be the use of the MS web animated controls or to
convert the ppt to another format like flash.

Best Regards,
