how can i retrieve an overridden word document?

I typed a 10 page paper and saved it under a file name. Later on that week I
typed a 2 page paper saving it under the same file name (not on purpose).
The computer told me I had another document under the same name and if i
wanted to override it. I unfortunately and stupidly said yes. Now my 10
page paper is GONE. Can someonw please help me retrieve my overridden word
document?????

You are unlikely to get the answer you need in a newsgroup devoted to Q&A
about Microsoft Access database software, as this one is. The Microsoft
online interface makes it trivially easy to get to the wrong newsgroup. You
need one that deals with Word, or with the version of Windows you are using.

There used to be, and likely still is, third-party software on the market
that included UNDELETE functions of varying success. The longer you use
your computer after doing the delete, the highter the chance that other data
will have been written over it, making it impossible to retrieve.
