Hi Ginny

Do you know which program that file was installed with? If so, try re-installing that particular program.

Hi Ginny,

This dll file is not a Windows system file. Seems to be an adware product.
You dont require this.

stlbupdt.dll isn't an XP file. If recent, you might be able to
retrieve it from the recycle bin. It may be associated with spyware,
though.

Hi -

A Google search on "stlbupdt.dll" shows it is indeed some type of
spyware, so you probably don't want to put it back on your system.

I hope this helps -

I can only say it is not a part of windows itself, and has not been
installed on this machine by anything else. It may have come as part
of a software package you installed, in which case wait until something
complains about it being missing, and reinstall that.

Or it may of course have been some virus/trojan component, in which
case you deleted the right thing by luck. How did you come to do it?
Dll files in System32 are not exactly staring you in the face to delete
them. If you have a message at start that it is missing it is very
possible it was a virus that your AV has deleted, leaving a line around
asking to run it. For than, Start - Run MSConfig.exe and look in
Startup for a line where it appears - uncheck the line
