how can I remove the fix funtion from my excel 2000??

Anyone that could help me out I'd appreciatte.
I have the fix function on my excel and every number i
type nmhy it automaticaly appears as nm.hy.
It is driving me crazy!

go into tools=>Options in the edit tab, unselect Fixed Decimal.
