How can I remove attachments from many emails at the same time?

When I file messages, I want to remove attachments from lots of emails at the
same time (e.g. I don't need copies of the attachments that I sent to other
people). Currently, I have to go, message by message, click on the attachment
and select "Remove" for each file. Is there any way to select a range of
email messages and remove all the attachments at the same time?
