How can I recover overwritten/saved files in a memory stick?

I saved a second document under the name of the first by mistake and I need
to recover the first. I saved them in a memory stick.
 
Saving directly to a memory stick was unwise - saving the with same name and
ignoring the warnings reckless. Unless you want to pay the very high prices
charged for forensic data recovery (which may not be successful) you will
have to retype the original!
