How can I recover a word 97 file that was accidentally deleted?

Is there a way to recover a file that was accidentally deleted? My computer
accidentally shut off and, while trying to recover the files on which I was
working, I deleted a file that I need.

Any methods for recovering my lost file?

Good question. Yes, I did. It wasn't there....possibly because I mistakenly
applied the "save as" designation to the file I really didn't want to save

That was a mistake :(

Now the only solution is file recovery software which *may* be able to
recover your document of the space it occupied has not been over-written.
Try File Recovery Pro http://www.ontrack.com/

If it has, you will need the services of a forensic disc analyst and that
will be expensive :(
