How can I receive e-mail instantly? (PUSH-style)

I am on an 'always on' broadband connection and was wondering if there was a
way (with an add-/plugin or just settings) to automatically receive mail as
it arrives in my inbox. For example running outlook in the taskbar, and I get
a message whenever a new e-mail message has arrived. I don't mean
"send/receive" every minute, but instantly receiving mail as it arrives in
the INBOX. (sort of Push-mail)
Is that possible?

P.S. That goes for Outlook 2003 and Windows Mail (Vista Build 5472)
 
That doesn't depend on Outlook but on the mail protocol being used. Exchange
is push e-mail POP3 is not.

It's POP3. It's not PUSH-mail, but just plain old G-mail (is that swearing
around microsoft?). Anyway... is there a "PUSH-style" setting for POP3, or
should I really use push-mail. If I should use PUSH-mail, could you recommend
a good free PUSH-service?

Again; this can't be done because of the protocol. So you should indeed use
a mail account that supports push e-mail like IMAP which is near instant.

Then... What are the settings to get push-style IMAP on my Outlook 2007 (or
2003)
