How can I process a survey in an Access database?

I am completing a lengthy survery and need to process the results of the
survey. I would like to do the data entry so that I can use the collected
information in several ways. I am attempting to find the best program (Excel
VS. Access) and method to setup the project. My goal is to be able to sort
the information by different criteria to find answers based on the survey
questions.

Excel is a spreadsheet application for number crunching. Access is a
database for validated data entry, compiling results in queries, and deriving
meaning from the data in forms and reports.

Please see Duane Hookom's AtYourSurvey on the following Web page for a
working example of a survey database:

If my answer has helped you, please sign in and answer yes to the question
"Did this post answer your question?" at the bottom of the message, which
adds your question and the answers to the database of answers. Remember that
questions answered the quickest are often from those who have a history of
rewarding the contributors who have taken the time to answer questions
correctly.
