Clip art/text horizontal

I am tryng to create a poster for Church event and cannot seem to be able to
place a clip art item next to text on the same horizontal level. Would
appreciate assistance. Thank you.

One easy way is to use a two-column borderless table. But if you need to
wrap the text around the graphic, then you need to change from the default
In Line With Text wrapping style on the picture to Square or Tight.

I usually use a text box to easily move a graphic around a word document.
Insert the text box where you want it, make it the appropriate size and
insert the graphic in the text box. You can even adjust the size of the
graphic to fit the box. If the graphic is on the left side of the page, you
may want to use another text box on the right hand side to save a lot of
manual spacing, indenting etc. You can remove the border around the text box
for a seamless appearance.
