I want to pick say "Head of Department" out of the titles field and print
labels and address letters only to that title, which maybe only 1 out of a
data base of a couple of hundred. Hiow do I go about this. My data base is
set up and I have arranged the order of the field so that they are al
together but do not know what to do next .
Is this facility in fact available and if so what dfo I do next.

The easiest way to do that (if you don't need to automate it) is to create a
select query and set criteria for the field you want to filter (and save it)
then open MS Word, go Tools / Mail Merge and choose your database as the
data source etc.

Having some fields which are too large in number I wish to selected again
using only specific records to produce a mail shot. Can this be done so that
it automatically addresses the labels and the envelopes?

Will the solution you forwarded allow the addressing to be done automatically
once it is set up as there is likely to be a large number of letters etc
required.
