How can I open a query in Acesss 2000 after editing in 2007?

I edited a query in Access 2007, and when I try to open in in Access 2000,
the program disappears from the screen. No error message, nothing. Just
gone.

How can I recover the database. Repair/Compact made no difference.
 
Did you convert the database to A07? Even so you should be getting an
unrecognizable database format error. Try compacting and repairing in A07 or
using the JetComp tool from MS.

If all else fails, hopefully you have a recent backup.
 
No, I just opened the file, as I still need to use it from the machine with
only access 2000 on it.
