How can I open a MS Excel file over 12MB in Excel 2003?

Under Office 2000, all files exceeding 12 MB are opened without any problems.
After upgrading it to Office 2003/Excel 2003, similar files can't be opened
normally. However, even if I can, all the formulae and formats are lost
which cannot be recovered any longer. Is there any settings I should do
before the files can be retrieved again?

Your problem is not a fault with Excel as such, I often use files up to 90MB
without problems.

Might I suggest that you consider reinstalling Excel if you are REALLY sure
that you can't open
anything over 12MB.

Have you tried opening someone elses files just to see what happens to them.

It probably has nothing to do with the file size. Perhaps a corrupt XL2003
installation. Are you able to open any file at all in your 2003 version?
Check also the contents of the XL2002 version, any special add-ins it might
be using, etc.

Provide more information on why you think the problem is related to the file
size. What error messages do you get from XL2003? Perhaps others would see
the problem when you post more information.
