How can I make a vLookup dynamic?

I would like to create a vlookup but have the range pulled from
another cell so the range in the vLookup would change based on the
value in the cell. For example =vlookup(A1,B1,2,False) where B1 is a
drop down list of range names in another sheet. So when you changed
the range name in B1 the vlookup would look up a different range.

Is this posible, when I try referencing a cell instead of typing in a
rangename for B1 the fomula errors out.
