How can I kill these from registry?

M

Mister Shed

I have these annoying entries in Local
Machine/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Run:

D:\PROGRA~1\McAfee.com\Agent\mcupdate.exe
"E:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 4.2\THGuard.exe"
"D:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot

I no longer use McAfee (a virus attack - which McAfee failed to prevent -
screwed my system, so I was unable to delete McAfee properly). I now use
Avast! antivirus and ZoneAlarm firewall. I want rid of McAfee and Real
altogether, and I want TrojanHunterGuard just not to load on boot. But
every time I delete them from registry (and disable every option in
TrojanHunter and Real settings that I can see), they immediately reappear.
Why can't I kill them once and for all?

Thanks

If the files are gone, Reboot into safe mode,
open regedit. Click on edit, select FIND type in McAfee,
Press ENTER and delete every McAfee Data entry and key you find. Kee
pressing the F3 key to find the next one. This is very dangerous so us
some common sense when doing this. Back up your registry first.

I do this almost on a daily basis with a variety of programs, viruse
and spyware (I consider McAfee and Norton to be "Viruses" and/o
"SlugWare") I'm frequently asked to remove these programs from people
computers and have used this method many times w/out a problem.
Be forewarned! Editing a registry is like handling a poisonous snake.
Keep focused so you don't get bit!
