You don't install software to an account - you just install it, period.
However, you can install it & move the Start Menu shortcuts from
c:\documents and settings\all users\start menu\programs to <username>\start
menu\programs. That won't prevent others from launching the program, though.
If that's your goal, and you aren't on a domain, you'll probably want to
look at Doug Knox's XP Console or Microsoft's SteadyState or similar.

Install & run the software by selecting, "run as" this puts password/adm
availability on it.

Hmmm - no, it won't - and I'm not sure your answer addresses the question.
He *is* the administrator.

Lanwench,
He might want to move the shortcut to the program out of the All User area
and into his own Start menu area.

In greater detail,
Start || Rtclk on MyComputer || Explore || C: Drive (or whatever drive he's
used for Win XP) || Documents and Settings || All Users || Start Menu ||
Programs || Move the desired folder or file from here to -- || Documents and
Settings || Joe HotShot AdminGuy (or whatever his account name is) || Start
Menu || Programs and drop the moved folder/file here.

This is all based upon the program installer wanting to install the program
in the All User area.

Sure - that's true. But that doesn't prevent other users from launching the
app, so I don't see much value in it - and it isn't how the question was
written. :-)

Start || Rtclk on MyComputer || Explore || C: Drive (or whatever

Lanwench,
Strange since I've used precisely this approach before on progams which
insisted in always installing using via the Alluser/StartMenu/Programs
folder. True, in his case he already has entried in the folders for the
individual users and he will need to delete them from the StartMenu/Programs
folder of the individual user. With only his StartMenu/Programs folder
offering the program then only if he has granted the others access to this
folder will they be able to run the program.

Awww, think about that for a minute If the user simply navigates to
c:\program files\blah\ and double-clicks on blah.exe he can run the program.
:-)

I'm not a big believer in "security by obscurity." If it's important that
users not be able to run specific apps, or that they only be able to run
apps X Y and Z, there are ways to accomplish that.

Hi, and thank you for the help... however I did this, and it does not remove
it from the other users.... Can I install software into only the
Administrator's user account. (As in only mine, and not the kids !!)

Can I choose this when I am prompted to "select destination folder" during
the installation, or do I have to install it, and then remove it from the
other accounts?

If you know how to do this, please send instructions !! (detailed if possible)

*note* I did try to install and then move into "owner" however it still
remained on desktop of other user.... I quite possibly did this wrong !!??

The start menu shortcuts are not the issue here....

This thread has gotten very stale - you should repost a new message, but
note that I provided what I think is the true answer to your questions in my
first reply here. You need third party software or Microsoft's windows
steady state.
