How can I insert a symbol in a box on Excel with one mouse click?

Help! I am making a form for my supervisors to use in evaluating employees
in Excel. I need them to be able to simply click on the cell (box) and a
check mark appear. Can this be done?

Why don't you just add a checkbox from the toolbox?
