Hi,
ive seen this in meetings but cant figure it out. When i give a lecture on
radiologic anatomy, i like to display an image with text referring to an area
in discussion, then with a click, replace the text with another referring to
a different area of the iamge and so forth thereby going over the findings on
an image while keeping the picture constantly on the slide. The only way ive
accomplished anything similar is to make multiple slides with the same
picture at the same spot and then add different text boxes in each so that it
looks like the picture is constant. Is there an easier way? thanks

Let's start with the basics: Which version of PPT do you use? Do you want to
be able to select the appearing and disappearing text in a specific order or
just as you click them?

If you are using PPT 2002 or later, you can use triggers to do what you
want. If you are using an earlier version, you will need to use multiple
slides as a workaround. Post back with the version, etc. and we can provide
better information.

Thanks for the reply.
I use PPT 2003 at work but 2000 at home (havent migrated yet). But to keep
it simple, lets say i use 2003. I would like a certain text to appear, then
when i click (nowhere in particular, but just as i would between slides), i
would like a second text to replace the first one, preferably with an arrow
at the part of the image that it describes...and so forth. I would prefer
that only the text that i want displayed to be shown at one time.
thanks,
asda

I think this might be a good exercise to get you started.

Basically, you would have an entrance effect on the "certain text to
appear," then you'd have an exit animation set to "on click" on the "certain
text." You'd also have an entrance animation on the "second text," and it
would be set to animate "with previous" or even "after previous." The arrow
animation would be set to "with previous."

Maybe it's easier to see like this, so you can compare the order in your
animation task pane.

Certain Text 1 Entrance Animation Start However You Want
Certain Text 1 Exit Animation Start On Click
Second Text 2 Entrance Animation Start With Previous (or After
Previous)
Arrow Entrance Animation Start With Previous
