How can I get the tel numbers in Outlook to maintain the hyphens..

When I enter a telephone number in the contact database, although I put in
the hyphens the number reverts to being without hyphens, which makes it very
difficult to read and dial.

For example: I enter (212) 544-1234 and when I save it it becomes (212)
5441234. How do I set up with hyphens. I have checked all the toolbar and
menus and asked questions in the Help but nothing talks about that.

Outlook should do this automatically if your dialing location is set
correctly for the operating system.
