I have the time showing up on the taskbar and I would really love to have the
date as well. I am so lost without the date.
Help please!!!

I can't remember if this is the case in 2000, but in XP the only way to get
it to show is to increase the height of your taskbar to two or more levels.
(I believe.)

With Windows 2000 you can adjust the height of the taskBar

Have you tried right-clicking on the TaskBar, clicking Properties & checking
'SHOW CLOCK'?

Is the Taskbar missing? If so you will need to reset it.

Awaiting your response.

His taskbar is visible and the time display is turned on. I believe that he
was looking to have the date displayed in addition to the time.

So, mouse over the date then

That's a nasty little program

It covers up some of the system tray icons with the date. It also just takes
up memory. Still if the user is happy then who am I to say any different?

I use TClockEx all the time and have to disagree about it covering up any tray icons. I've used it for years, on Win98, WinMe, Win2K and WinXP, and have never seen that to be the case. As far as memory use, it's hard for me to see how that could be the case since it doesn't even show as a running process, but in any case I think any memory usage would be very small. There are other tray clock utilities with similar names, perhaps it's one of those you are thinking of.

Right, my taskbar is visible and the time is turned on. There is no option
to click to show the date. If I adjust the height of the bar which is
already 2 high, it makes the taskbar tall & narrow instead of short & wide.
So any more suggestions?

I believe your only option is to either get a desk calendar and stick it
next to your monitor or go with some other application that will display the
date where you like it. From the best that I can tell, the date display was
introduced in XP.

I've never seen anything like that. It doesn't cover up anything, and
whatever performance hit there may be is too small to be detectable.

I use "Dave's Quick Search Deskbar". It was recommended by Kim Komando
and can do hundreds of tricks. Left alone, it displays the date and time.
