B Bernie Deitrick Sep 30, 2004 #2 David, Format the cell as Fraction, up to tow digits, and enter your value like 12 5/12 There really isn't a standard for years and months being entered into a single cell and displayed. HTH, Bernie MS Excel MVP

M mzehr Sep 30, 2004 #3 Hi, Try also the following, if formatting will not work, and you are already having to do a calculation to derive the individual's age: =DATEDIF(A1,NOW(),"y") & ":" & DATEDIF(A1,NOW(),"ym") Unfortunately you will not be able to easily do additional calculations based on the results. See Chip Pearson's website for more info: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/datedif.htm HTH
