How can I export a report to Word and retain images?

Hi all,

I have a database and I'm working on creating a report for my
employees to summarize their activities. The Access report summarizes
information entered into the database about meetings and partnerships,
etc. However, the employees will need to be able to add more details
which are not captured in the database.

To this end I made sort of a template with the Access report, leaving
headings and room for them to add where necessary. Then I did a macro
that exports the report to MS Word so that they have an editable file.

However, the company logo, charts and other graphic elements that I
had in my Access report don't show up in the word document. Is there
something I'm doing wrong with the properties that causes them not to
export? I have the picture type set to "embedded" if that means
anything...

I'm using MS Access 2003. I'm very new to Access and I don't know VBA
at all, I just use macros and point and click.

If anyone has any ideas about how I can export to an editable file and
retain images, I would be very grateful!

Hi Doug,

I take it from your post that this means one has to do something fancy
to export the images. Is there really no simple way to do this?
Surely I'm not the only one who ever wanted to export charts and
images to word? I keep getting amazed at how seemingly simple tasks I
want to do in Access turn out to have naught but excessively
complicated solutions...

Sorry, I'm just venting. Thanks for posting the link to this. This
is probably not the place to ask, but how do you use the form? Can I
just copy it and paste into my own database?

I'll play with it but I fear its going to be beyond my ken. If anyone
else knows a simple way to export a report with the graphics and
formatting intact, but to an editable file, any suggestions would be
welcomed.

Thanks again

SJ
