How can I expand the number of characters displayed from a memo f.

I have a databse which contains 2 memo fields, both of which must be visible
in my reports. When I run a report on the database, Access deafults the field
size to 255 characters. (Even though the field type is a Memo).

Often there are 500+ charatcers in each of these fields, and so I now have
to export the reports to MS Word, and copy and paste the "extra" text
directly from the table.

Does anyone know how I can expand the field size in a report to display more
than 255 charatcers?

Sorry I was so impatient, there are a few threads here that helped to answer
my question, but I wanted to get it in before I waded through pages of
information.

To expand on the issue:

I have 2 "non-Access" users in my department, so I am resposnible for
creating databases, queries, reports, etc. for my department., The other 2
users enter data through forms. HOWEVER, I have been trying to teach them the
basics of reports using wizards, so that if I am not available, one of them
can run the reports.

The problem was that the most important report was based on a Select Query
where the "Comments" section (a memo field) is set up as "Group By". The
report was only pulling 255 characters from this memo field, meaning we had
to export this report to MS Word, and copy and paste the missing text.

I found the following answer to my question from a thread further down:

"Subject: Re: Strange Characters in Memo Field in Report"
"Change the Group By on the memo field to First. Ken Snell <MS ACCESS MVP>"

I tried it, and lo and behold - YAY! It worked! Now I can allow my other 2
users to run the report, and not have to export it to Word and add the
missing text, which was a daunting task.

Again, sorry I didn't search longer before posting, but hopefully this
advice will assist someone else as well.

Thanks Ken!

I asked virtually the same question the other day, so I was very interested
in your answer. Thanks a lot for posting this. I probably wouldn't have
found it myself.
Thanks.
