How can I disable/uninstall a 2nd copy of xp?

Long story short, a technician said I needed to re-install windows after
replacing my motherboard with the same model, which should not be the case.
He had the SATA cable in the wrong place. I re-installed windows and was
having a few difficulties (couldn't find other drives I had in the box) which
were plugged into a PCI SATA card. Saw his error and corrected it and my
original desktop/windows XP installation/configuration/programs...everything
is where it should be.
Question is: How do I disable or uninstall that 2nd copy of XP on my C
drive? I restarted once and it used that installation to boot. It's sucking
up space, as you know, as well.
Thanks!

here is a link with some
helpful info:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303661

seems that you might have to
log into the undesired o.s. for
the last time to do the above.

afterwards, you may or may
not be able to boot into the
new o.s.

if not, then simply boot with
the windows setup cd, skip the
install and instead go into the
recovery console and at the
prompt run:

fixboot
fixmbr

If I'm reading the microsoft support information this applies to upgrades
from an OS other than XP, i.e., from 98 or 2000. This may not be the answer.
Thanks for trying.
