How can I disable all hyperlinks in a spreadsheet?

I copy data from other spreadsheets. If it look slike an address Excel makes
it a hyper link. I have to remove them one by one - then they come back when
I copy data from that cell. How can I stop this for good without downgrading
to an older version?

If you paste special as values they won't be hyperlinks, if you have a lot
of hyperlinks that you
want to make inactive in one fell swoop you can copy an empty cell, then
select the links(using arrow keys)
and then paste special and select add
